EU, WHO Join Forces to Distribute Covid-19 Vaccine in Armenia

The European Union and the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe are joining forces to support the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in Armenia.

In a statement released today, the WHO reports that the EU-funded WHO program will cover all phases of COVID-19 vaccine distribution, vaccination implementation, and will serve as a major contribution to strengthening the vaccination system.

The project will be implemented over three years by the WHO as part of a €40 million EU-funded initiative to assist the WHO in six countries in the European region in preparing, monitoring and implementing COVID-19 vaccines.

"Vaccines bring us closer to the end of the epidemic. However, we will never beat the epidemic if vaccination coverage is concentrated in certain parts of the world. The European Union is also supporting Armenia in the vaccination process so that we can meet soon without fear for the lives of our loved ones. Together we will overcome this epidemic faster," said Andrea Victorin, EU Ambassador to Armenia.
