Armenian Health Minister, Dutch Ambassador Discuss Covid-19

Armenian Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan and newly appointed Netherlands Ambassador to Armenia Nico Schermers met today in Yerevan and discussed the Covid-19 situation in Armenia.

Avanesyan, according to a statement released by her office, thanked Schermers for his country’s support in the fight against the coronavirus in Armenia.

"We are working to raise public awareness and ensure data transparency in the fight against COVID-19. The government and our ministry are doing everything possible to avoid the projected third wave of the epidemic,” Avanesyan told the ambassador.

The parties noted the work done by the Armenian community in the Netherlands to provide prostheses to Armenian soldiers wounded during the recent Artsakh war.

The possibility of aiding the Dutch medical team scheduled to Armenia in April to provide rehabilitation medical care was also discussed.
