UN's FAO Launches Emergency Assistance Program for Artsakh Refugees in Armenia

The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has launched an emergency assistance program to support vulnerable groups affected by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict now residing in Armenia.

The project will be implemented jointly by the RA Ministry of Economy and the RA Food Safety Inspectorate.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the $350,000 program will provide assistance packages to people consisting of livestock feed, equipment, as well as tools for building or repairing houses, fertilizers and vegetable seeds.

"This program is one of the important components of the continuous cooperation of the RA Ministry of Economy and the FAO. We must work together so that the support provided to farmers is not only transparent and targeted, but also provided at the right time. Our ministry is ready to support the implementation of this program as soon as possible," said Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Arman Khojoyan.
