Armenian Parliamentary Speaker, Iranian Ambassador Discuss Karabakh Ceasefire
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan and Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Zohouri met today in Yerevan and discussed various matters related to the Karabakh conflict and the recent war there.
Mirzoyan, according to a statement released by his office, stated that the conflict cannot be considered finally resolved until the issue of Nagorno Karabakh's status and the right of Artsakh Armenians to self-determination is settled in the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing format.
Mirzoyan also called for the immediate implementation of the clauses of the November 9 ceasefire, including the exchange of all POWs on a “one for all” basis.
Ambassador Zohuri said that Iran welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Artsakh and reaffirmed Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif's earlier statement that the issue of the return of prisoners of war should be resolved as soon as possible.
