Azerbaijan Will Not Hinder Normalization of Turkey-Armenia Relations, Says Aliyev

According to the Russian TASS news agency, President Ilham Aliyev, during an interview with the foreign press on Friday, stated that Baku will not hinder the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, and the opening of the borders between those countries.

"Given the new situation, we have a positive attitude towards the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations. I do not have a special position on the normalization of those relations now. Turkey will decide on its own when the borders can be opened and when relations with Armenia will be normalized. In any case, there will be no negative opinion from Azerbaijan," TASS quotes Aliyev as saying.

Aliyev said that his country will continue to purchase Turkish-made military equipment.

"Relations with Turkey regarding the military-industrial complex will continue. I can report that new agreements have been signed, by which an accord has been reached on the supply of modern military equipment of Turkish production. It will further strengthen our military power," Aliyev said.
