Armenian President, Human Rights Defender Discuss Return of Artsakh War Captives
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and Arman Tatoyan, the country’s Human Rights Defender, today discussed steps being taken to return Artsakh war captives and the missing.
Tatoyan, according to a statement released by Sarkissian’s office, explained his idea of creating a demilitarized security zone to guarantee the rights of the residents of Syunik.
Tatoyan stressed that the border demarcation process is being carried out in conditions of Azerbaijan's open threat of war and its state policy of anti-Armenian hatred.
Sarkissian noted that there is no official process to demarcate the border between the two countries, which means that from a legal position, at least, the process is uncertain.
