Yerevan: Armenian, Iranian Officials Call for Withdrawal of Terrorists From the Region

On March 17, Armenian-Iranian consultations took place at the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Yerevan.

During the meeting between Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Ghondyan and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs Mohsen Baharvand, issues of strengthening and expanding the existing legal field between Armenia and Iran were broached.

The parties, according to a statement released by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, discussed regional issues of mutual interest, stressed the inadmissibility of the presence of terrorists, emphasizing the need for their immediate withdrawal from the region.

A wide range of issues related to human rights, cultural cooperation, joint work within international organizations, and the fight against terrorism were discussed.

The parties praised the successful cooperation between Armenia and Iran within the UNESCO framework.
