To commemorate the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945, Armenian President Armen Sargsyan today hosted veterans of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) Rozalia Abgaryan, Shoghik Sarafyan, Papin Marukhyan and Khachik Hovakimyan. 

"Freedom and victory are never given as a gift, they are achieved through your will and efforts, at the cost of your health," Sargsyan said.

Victory and Peace Day in Armenia is marked on May 9 every year.
