Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan Posthumously Awarded "Order of the Homeland"
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today posthumously awarded the "Order of the Homeland" to Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (nom-de guerre Komandos), who passed away in Yerevan at the age of 81 on March 31, for his exceptional services in the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and ensuring the defense and security of the country.
Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan was a top commander during the 1990s Artsakh Liberation War and commanded the operation that liberated Shushi in May 1992.
Tadevosyan was born in Tbilisi, Soviet Georgia.
