French National Assembly Speaker Says "France Stands By Armenia"

During their meeting today in Paris, French National Assembly Speaker Richard Ferrand told visiting Acting Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan that French deputies are drafting a new resolution calling for the return of Armenian POWs now held in Azerbaijan.

Ferrand said that the French government is paying close attention to developments taking place in the South Caucasus and that it backs Armenia’s territorial integrity and the need to preserve Karabakh’s Armenian cultural sites with the assistance of UNESCO.

“France is by Armenia's side. Please convey our message to the Armenian people. We will do our best to establish stability and prosperity in Armenia. You have always relied on us. You can rely on us now and in the future," Ferrand said, this according to a statement released by Pashinyan’s office.

Ferrand told Pashinyan that French National Assembly deputies will continue their work to help Armenia overcome the challenges it now faces.
