Pashinyan Deliberately Squandered Negotiation Process, Says "I Have Honor" Representative

Armen Ashotyan, who represents the I Have Honor (Pativ Unem) alliance, today accused Nikol Pashinyan of deliberately squandering the constructive, pro-Armenian Karabakh negotiation process he inherited from the Serzh Sargsyan administration.

“He deliberately squandered that negotiation process, thus bringing war to Artsakh and Armenia, by destroying the constructive, pro-Armenian negotiation process, by nullifying its actual pro-Armenian results,” Ashotyan said at a Yerevan press conference today.

Ashotyan served as Minister of Education and Science during Serzh Sargsyan’s presidency. (Sargsyan is campaigning for the alliance, comprised of the Republican Party of Armenia and Artur Vanetsyan’s Homeland Party, but is not running as a candidate in the June 20 election.)

Ashotyan also accused Pashinyan of “playing the fool” on the international arena.

"Did the world take us seriously or does it take us seriously when it saw that the Armenian people naively appointed a leader who is crazy, representing Armenia as a crazy in the world? That is why the world did not help us, that is why Russia did not help us, because we are dealing with a man who, by overthrowing Armenia's negotiating position, crucifying the status of Artsakh, deceiving world leaders, presenting us and the people frivolously, brought this war upon us,” Ashotyan said.
