Armenian National Congress (HAK) Deputy Chairman Levon Zurabyan, at a campaign stop in Kotayk’s Kaghs community, claimed that growing numbers of Armenian voters are looking to HAK as an alternative to voting for incumbent PM Nikol Pashinyan or his main rival, former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan.

“They are coming to around to the idea the best person to ensure the country’s stability 's may be the first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan," Zurabyan said.

The HAK representative rebuked both Pashinyan and Kocharyan for inflating the numbers of supporters at their campaign rallies by ferrying the same people from event to event.

Zurabyan also referred to Pashinyan’s justification of exchanging military maps for the release of Armenians held by Baku.

"In substantiating that deal, he cited the example of Israel. Pashinyan says that Israel can release 300 or 1000 Palestinian terrorists who have organized terrorist attacks against Israel to bring out one person. You did very well to remember the example of Israel, but you should have remembered a little earlier.”

Zurabyan also cited Israel as a country that since a peace treaty in 1978 with Egypt, its enemy at the time, and that it returned the Sinai Peninsula, a strategic territory it had captured a few years earlier.

"If the leaders in Israel were like Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan and Nikol Pashinyan, they would have said we will not give an inch.
