Former Armenian Deputy Health Minister, Obstetrics Institute Director Sentenced for Bribery
Yerevan’s Court of General Jurisdiction today sentenced former Armenian Deputy Health Minister Arsen Davtyan to seven years imprisonment and Razmik Abrahamyan, Director of the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, to three years behind bars in a bribery case that dates to 2019.
Davtyan was found guilty of receiving a particularly large bribe and Abrahamyan of giving a particularly large bribe in a scheme designed to maintain state funding to the Institute.
Abrahamyan, now 78, was given two years’ probation instead of the three years in jail.
The bribe amounted to $3,000.
