Armenia's Snap Parliamentary Election: Pashinyan's Civil Contract Party Wins 53.92%

Based on yesterday’s snap election, Armenian’s new parliament will be comprised of the Civil Contract Party, which won 53.92 of the votes, the Armenia Bloc (21.04%), and the I Have Honor Bloc (5.23%).

The vote count for the other parties/alliances:

Prosperous Armenia Party – 3.96%

Hanrapetutyun (Republic) Party – 3.04%

Armenian National Congress – 1.54%

Shirinyan-Babajanyan Bloc – 1.50%

National-Democratic Axis – 1.47%

Lusavor (Bright) Armenia Party – 1.22%

5165 National Conservative Movement – 1.22%

Azatakan (Liberal) Party – 1.17%

Hayots Hayrenik Party – 1.03%

Our Home is Armenia Party – 0.95%

Democratic Party of Armenia – 0.39%

Zartonk (Awakening) National Christian Party – 0.36%

Azat Hayrenik (Free Homeland) Bloc – 0.32%

Artar Hayastan (Just Armenia) Party – 0.31%

Citizen’s Decision Party – 0.30%

Sovereign Armenia Party – 0.28%

European Party of Armenia – 0.22%

Azatutyun (Freedom) Party – 0.14%

(Voter turnout in yesterday's election was 49.4%. Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission reports that 1,281,174 voters of the 2,593,572 registered as eligible cast ballots. 

(While former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s "I Have Honor" bloc did not overcome the 7% barrier provided for blocs, since, according to the law, there must be at least three political forces in parliament. Thus, garnering third place, the bloc will enter the National Assembly.)
