Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, in Strasbourg today, raised the issue of Armenian detainees in Azerbaijan with Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović.

Tatoyan stressed that Azerbaijan is holding the Armenians in gross violation of international human rights.

He also presented evidence that Azerbaijani servicemen are violating the rights of Armenian citizens living along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

The two discussed the human rights situation in Armenian penitentiaries, psychiatric hospitals, as well as issues of protection of the rights of children, women and people with disabilities.
