ARF Supreme Body Members and U.S. Ambassasdor Discuss Political Developments

ARF Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body members and US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy met in Yerevan today and discussed post-election political developments in Armenia and projects drafted by the party.

Welcoming the new composition of the Supreme Body of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Ambassador Tracy stressed that the United States will remain committed to supporting the democratic, economic, and social governance of Armenia and promised to closely follow the problems of Nagorno Karabakh deportees, as well as support the return of prisoners.

ARF Supreme Body representative Isahak Saghatelyan summarized the concerns and assessments of the party, as well as the Armenia bloc, regarding the political atmosphere in Armenia, pre-election violations, drastic government personnel dismissals, and the arbitrariness of the law.

Saghatelyan stressed that Armenia’s security challenges, as well as the issue of Artsakh, remain priorities for the ARF.

ARF Supreme Body member Lilit Galstyan referred to the decline of democracy in the country and noted the role of the United States in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the Minsk Group.
