Armenian Prosecutor General, CoE Official Discuss Artsakh Humanitarian Issues

Christos Giakoumopoulos, Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, and Armenian Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan met today in St. Petersburg within the framework of the International Conference of Heads of Prosecutors of European States and discussed the humanitarian consequences of last year’s Artsakh war, especially in terms of violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms.

Davtyan, according to a statement released by his office, noted that Azerbaijan is actively taking steps to destabilize the post-war situation, by violating Point 8 of the November 9, 2020 trilateral ceasefire that calls for “the exchange prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons, and dead bodies.”
