Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today, by telephone, congratulated Artur Davtyan who won Armenia’s first Olympic medal ever in gymnastics yesterday at the Sumer Games in Tokyo.

Davtysan won the bronze medal in the men’s vault with a score of 14.733 points.

J.H. Shin from South Korea took the gold with 14.783 points

Davtyan was declared the champion in the Pommel Horse at the European Gymnastics Championships held in Basel, Switzerland earlier this year.
