Yerevan Reopens Vandalized Gandhi Statue

Indian Ambassador to Armenia Kishan Dan Dewal was on hand today for the reopening Yerevan’s Mahatma Gandhi statue.

The statue had been vandalized last April, supposedly by a group of extreme nationalists who claimed that Gandhi opposed the 1920 Treaty of Sevres.

Ambassador Kishan Dan Deval thanked the Yerevan Municipality for repairing and reopening the statue that symbolizes centuries-old Armenian-Indian relations.
