Armenia's Elina Danielyan Wins European’s Women’s Chess Championship

Armenia’s Elina Danielyan won the European’s Women’s Chess Championship held in Romania.

Danielyan won seven games and drew in four for nine points out of a possible eleven.

She walked away with the bronze medal in the 2011 European Championship.

Second and third places were won by Ukrainian Yulia Osmak and Poland’s Olivia Kolbasa.

117 chess players participated in the European Championship.

In addition to Elina Danielyan, six chess players represented Armenia at the European Championship. Anna Sargsyan took fifth place, Mariam Mkrtchyan (21st), Lilit Mkrtchyan (34th), Mariam Mkrtchyan (40th), Susanna Gaboyan (42nd), Maria Gevorgyan (71st), and Siranush Ghukasyan (91st).
