Armenia, North Macedonia Group J Qualifier Ends in Goalless Draw

Armenia and North Macedonia played to a 0-0 draw yesterday in the fourth round of World Cup European zone qualifiers.

During the first half of the match, that took place at the Toše Proeski stadium in Skopje, the North Macedonian team maintained territorial advantage with the Armenian squad mounting periodic counterattacks.

Both teams had failed to score a goal when the referee whistled the ending of the first half.

The second half was a repeat of the first, with the host team controlling the ball and the Armenians relying on counterattacks.

The efforts of both teams were in vain, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

In the other Group J matches, Germany defeated Liechtenstein 2: 0, and Romania beat Iceland 2-0.

After four rounds, Armenia’s national squad continues to lead Group J with ten points, followed by Germany with nine. North Macedonia is 3rd with seven, Romania is in 4th with six, Iceland is 5th with three, and Liechtenstein is in last place with no points.

Armenia will play Germany on September 5 at Stuttgart’s Mercedes-Benz Arena. On that day, Iceland will host North Macedonia, and Romania hosts Liechtenstein.
