
Monetary Motivation: Armenia Boosts Awards for Olympic Games Winners
Armenia will boost monetary awards to winners at the Olympic games, their coaches and physicians.
Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan, at today’s government cabinet session, said PM Nikol Pashinyan ordered the increases to better motivate athletes and their trainers.
Gold medal winners will now receive 25 million AMD (US$51,400) instead of the current 20 million.
Head coaches and physicians of winning Armenian teams will receive 12.5 million AMD awards, up from 10 million.
Athletes winning silver medals will receive a 20 million AMD award, up from the current 15 million.
Second place coaches and physicians will see their awards increase to 10 million AMD from the current 7.5 million.
