An Armenian soldier was shot today along the Azerbaijani border near the Gegharkunik village of Kut.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense reports that the wound is not life threatening.

Following the incident, Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan blamed the Azerbaijani military for the shooting, noting that Azerbaijani forces are now illegally positioned in sections of Armenia’s Gegharkunik and Syunik provinces.
