Armenian, Czech Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Relations
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, at a joint press conference today in Yerevan with visiting Czech Foreign Minster Jakub Kulhánek, reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to resume Karabakh conflict settlement talks under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Mirzoyan, referring to a September 23 meeting in New York with the Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, said that he called for the immediate release of all Armenian POWs held in Azerbaijan.
Mirzoyan said that Kulhánek’s visit to Armenia, his first, gives a new impetus to Armenian-Czech relations and an opportunity to reassess the potential for effective cooperation in the political, economic and other spheres.
“Minister Kulhanek and I touched upon our agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. We have an effective framework for political dialogue and consultations between the foreign ministries. There is also the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which will soon hold its 5th session here in Yerevan,” Mirzoyan said according to a statement released by his office.
