Indian Foreign Minister Proposes Sending Business Delegation to Armenia

During their meeting today in Yerevan, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stressed the need to jump start relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Jaishankar said that the two countries must take practical, tangible steps to advance relations, especially in the economic sector given the great untapped potential that exists.

The Indian Foreign Minister, according to a statement released by Pashinyan’s office, proposed the creation of an Armenian-Indian business forum or sending an Indian business delegation to Armenia to investigate investment opportunities.

The two specified infrastructure, tourism, pharmaceuticals, information technologies and diamond making as sectors for possible cooperation.
