Armenian Foreign Minister, ICRC VP Discuss POW Issue

Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Vice President Gilles Carbonnier met today in Yerevan and discussed the humanitarian challenges in post-war Artsakh.

Mirzoyan, according to a statement released by his office, stressed that Azerbaijan continues to detain Armenian POWs and civilians, a blatant violation of the November 9, 2020 ceasefire agreement.

The ICRC is the only international organization now in Artsakh aiding the population.

Carbonnier’s delegation expressed its readiness to continue its assistance in overcoming the humanitarian problems created in the post-war situation.
