Armenia Allocates $28.5 Million to Artsakh to Cover Utilities, Salaries, Pensions

Armenia will allocate 13.575 billion AMD ($28.5 million) to cover the November 2021 utility costs for Artsakh residents and to cover salaries, benefits, pensions, and healthcare expenditures envisaged by the 2021 Artsakh budget,

At a government cabinet session yesterday, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan said that the 2022 budget envisages allocating 144 billion AMD to Artsakh.

“Over the past year, we have allocated about 120 billion AMD to Artsakh. It is also important to gradually move from aid programs to development programs as smoothly as possible so that the tax collection mechanism works in Artsakh as well. We will continue to support the Republic of Artsakh in its socio-economic recovery and development," Pashinyan said.

Armenia is throwing good money after bad here and it will all be wasted. The history of so called "Artsakh" has been brutish and it will prove to be short, Recognized by no one but themselves the Karabakh sepparatist politicians are kiving in a fantasy world and the remnants of the defense army must be feeling very dejected and vulnerable at the moment as they have zero chance of preventing Azerbaijan taking over whenever they want to and they know it. Azerbaijan has made it very clear that they are prepared to fight to the last Armenian to prevent Karabakh independence so the defense army troops must be seriously thinking about looking for healthier employment. They can live freely in their homeland if they wish but they will have to become Azerbaijan citizens to do so. If they don't want to do that then they will have to leave. Azerbaijan has made it very clear that this is not negotiable and these are their only options and the sooner the Armenians reconcile themselves to that the better for them.
