
Armenian Deputy Police Chief to Attend INTERPOL Assembly in Istanbul
Armenian Deputy Chief of Police Ara Fidanyan will attend the 89th INTERPOL General Assembly in Istanbul, Turkey (23 - 25 November).
The Assembly will bring together chiefs of police and senior officials from around the world to address global security issues.
The General Assembly is INTERPOL’s supreme governing body, comprising representatives from each of its 194 member countries. It meets once a year.
According to INTERPOL, Armenia’s crime areas of priority concern include trafficking in drugs, people and fake goods, with these crimes often leading to money laundering and violent crime.
Armenia’s immediate neighbors, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia and Iran are INTERPOL members.
