The Shant Alliance won 70.2% of the votes in yesterday’s municipal council election in the Syunik provincial capital of Kapan yesterday.

Armenian PM Nikol Pashnyan's Civil Contract party came in second with 28.9%.

The Shant Alliance is headed by incumbent Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan.

Voter turnout was 63.4%

In Ijevan, the provincial capital of Tavush, the Civil Contract party won 80.8% of the vote, followed by the ARF with 15.9%.

Voter turnout in Ijevan was 37.5%

In Lori’s Stepanavan community, the Civil Contract party won 78.4% of the vote, followed by the Prosperous Armenia party (13.9%) and the Armenian National Congress (4.3%).

Voter turnout in Stepanavan was 38.3%.
