Armenia's U.N. Representative Addresses Azerbaijani Border Incursions
Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the U.N. Mher Margaryan addressed an open debate on “Peace and security through preventive diplomacy: A common objective to all UN principal organs”, on November 16 and focused on Azerbaijan’s recent attacks on Armenia’s territorial integrity.
Margaryan, according to an Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement, stressed the need for urgent and effective steps by international actors to prevent further escalation and to ensure the unconditional complete withdrawal of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the territory of Armenia.
Margaryan said that Azerbaijan's aggressive actions endanger the efforts of the international community to defuse the situation and seriously undermine the prospects for peace in the region.
