14% Fully Vaccinated in Armenia, Says Health Ministry

Armenia’s Ministry of Health claims that 14% of the country’s population has been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The ministry reports that 40.5% of the 406,681 individuals fully vaccinated received the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.

Surprisingly, the vaccination rate in the capital Yerevan is the lowest in the country along with the province of Tavush.

Higher vaccination rates are reported in the provinces of Kotayk and Ararat.

The ministry told Hetq that the number of foreigners included in the number of the vaccinated is 7,177 (0.6%). The ministry does not maintain data on where they are from.

25.6% of those vaccinated received the AstraZeneca vaccine, followed by Sputnik V (16%), Moderna (11.5%) and Sinovac (6.76%).

Hetq asked the ministry to provide death rate numbers among vaccinated people, but the ministry said that such data are still being collected and will be submitted by the end of the year.

The ministry did not provide information on post-vaccination adverse reactions, but said they were being investigated.
