Armenian Pro-Government, Opposition MPs Brawl
A brawl broke out fight today in the office of Armenian National Assembly Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan between pro-government members and staffers of the opposition Hayastan faction.
Hayastan faction MP Aram Vardevanyan told reporters that the deputies' assistants had a debate in the corridor with Civil Contract MPs Sisak Gabrielyan and Hrachya Hakobyan.
Vardevanyan said after the incident was resolved, Rubinyan invited the warring sides to sit down for coffee. (Rubinyan is a Civil Contract member.)
Vardevanyan said that pro-government supporters, including Civil Contract MPs, rushed into the office and started to beat the opposition members.
Vardevanyan claimed that pro-government MPs intended to incite the fight and denied reports that members of the opposition ARF youth wing insulted the Civil Contract MPs.
