Yerevan Municipal Council Estimates Revenues of $192.7 Million in 2022

Yerevan’s Municipal Council today elected Levon Hovhannisyan, secretary of the My Step faction, as Yerevan’s First Deputy Mayor.

Today’s special session follows the ouster of Hayk Marutyan as mayor in a non-confidence vote.

The council estimates 2022 revenues at 94.560 billion drams (US$192.5 million).

5.8 billion drams, according to a council press release, will be spent on renovating 22 kindergartens in Yerevan.

AMD 500 million will be allocated to municipal health centers.

Funds will used to replace 100 elevators in Yerevan buildings and to purchase 100 new buses.

1.8 billion drams will be allocated to improve courtyards and to furnish playgrounds.

509 million drams will be allocated to construct drainage networks.

4.6 billion drams to build recreation areas and parks and to refurbish highways and streets.
