Pashinyan Says No Coronavirus Crisis in Armenia
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today announced that the country isn’t facing a health crisis even though just one-quarter of the population has received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Pashinyan, at today’s final 2021 cabinet session, said that the remainder of the population must get their second dose and booster shots.
He brushed aside criticism that his government has mismanaged its response to the epidemic.
“In Armenia, we have been able to at least manage the epidemic so that we do not end up in a very bad situation. Moreover, we were one of the first to decide that the lockdown policy does not bring practical benefits, but worsens the economic situation," Pashinyan said.
Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan urged people to get their booster vaccine six months after receiving the initial two vaccines.
