The Russian peacekeeping mission today handed over the remains of one Armenian serviceman, found in the northeastern direction (Mataghis), to the Artsakh State Emergency Service.

Azerbaijani troops captured the Artsakh town of Mataghis in October 2020 and renamed it  Suqovuşan.

1,705 corpses and remains have been found or transferred during searches conducted following the 2020 Artsakh war.  

"Negotiations are underway to resume search operations," the Artsakh State Emergency Situations Service reported.
