Omicron Strains Armenia's Children's Hospitals
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, during today’s cabinet session, said that only 256 (11.6%) of those now being treated in Armenian hospitals for the coronavirus had been vaccinated.
"The significant impact of the vaccine on the process is obvious," said Pashinyan.
Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan announced that 4% of those testing positive for the virus need to be hospitalized and country’s health system is working intensively to keep up.
"Children younger than eighteen often get sick with Omicron. Children's medical centers are currently working intensively and are overloaded,” Avanesyan said.
