Armenian, Iranian Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Security Issues
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met today on the sidelines of 58th Munich Security Conference and said their two governments are ready to intensify cooperation in the security, trade, energy, transport and tourism sectors.
The two ministers, according to a statement released by Mirzoyan’s office, stressed the need to finalize and sign an agreement reached earlier to establish an international transport corridor from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea.
The two also discussed regional and international security issues.
Mirzoyan praised Iran's position on Armenia's territorial integrity and border inviolability.
The need for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs was also stressed.
