Armenian Human Rights Defender (HRD) Arman Tatoyan and Dutch Ambassador to Armenia Nico Schermers met today in Yerevan and discussed issues related to the protection of human rights in Armenia’s penitentiaries, psychiatric hospitals, and jails.

Tatoyan, according to a statement released by his office, spoke about the need to establish a security zone along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border given the ongoing violations committed by the Azerbaijani military.

The two also discussed problems in Armenia’s judiciary stemming from unreasonable delays in court hearings and violations of reasonable deadlines.
