
Armenian Defense Minister Invites Russian Counterpart to Armenia
The defense ministers of Armenia and Russia discussed plans to modernize and reform Armenia’s military at a meeting in Moscow today.
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Shoigu, also discussed the effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh, this according to a statement released by Papikyan’s office.
The two ministers also discussed a range of international and regional security issues.
Papikyan invited Shoigu to Armenia for an official visit.
Papikyan laid a wreath at Moscow’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier dedicated to Soviet soldiers killed during WWII.
