Armenian Opposition MPs in Artsakh to Express Moral Support

A delegation of Armenia’s opposition “Hayastan” parliamentary faction traveled to Artsakh today and was received by Artsakh National Assembly Speaker Artur Tovmasyan.

Tovmasyan, according to a statement released by his office, told the visiting MPs that the opposition and the government should act together on important issues for the homeland.

Tovmasyan stressed the need to be guided by national interests, one of which is Artsakh.

The Hayastan faction MPs told Tovmasyan they had traveled to Artsakh to express their moral support to the local populace. They said they had visited the villages of Khramort and Khnapat, recently targeted by Azerbaijani troops.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon regional and geopolitical developments, and issues related to the restoration and strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.

They also discussed Armenia-Turkey relations and prospects for resolving the Karabakh conflict.
