Artsakh Government - Azerbaijan Turns Off Natural Gas Supply

The Artsakh government today reported Azerbaijan has again halted natural gas supplies to Karabakh from Armenia.

The government, in a statement, says an Azerbaijani repair team working on the pipeline installed a shut-off valve that was turned off earlier today.

An explosion on March 8 to a section of the pipeline passing through Azerbaijani controlled territory in Karabakh halted gas for ten days.

Azerbaijani authorities prevented repairs to the pipeline until an agreement was reached, brokered by Russian peacekeepers, to fix the damaged section.

The natural gas supply to Karabakh was restored on March 19.

Some claim that Azerbaijani authorities intentionally damaged the pipeline.
