Armenian Parliament Bans Use of "Wild" Circus Animals
The Armenian National Assembly today approved a bill outlawing the use of wild animals in the country’s circuses.
Interestingly, no circus has operated in Armenia for the past ten years since the demolition of the old Yerevan Circus in 2012.
Work on the new circus building continues.
In 2011, Moscow-based Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan announced that his Tashir Group would invest $10 million in the renovation of the Yerevan Circus.
