Azerbaijani Troops Remain in Parukh Despite Russian Mediation
The Artsakh government reports that Russian peacekeepers haven’t managed to remove Azerbaijani troops from the Armenian village of Parukh.
The government, in a statement, says that the peacekeepers have persuaded Azerbaijani troops to stop firing in the area along the eastern Line of Contact.
Azerbaijani troops advanced from their positions on March 24 and occupied the village whose residents were evacuated.
“Artsakh authorities, however, express hope that due to the decisive efforts of the Russian side, the Azerbaijani troops will return to their prior positions, allowing civilians to return to their homes,” the government’s statement reads.
