Former Armenian Defense Minister's Lawyers Claim "Psychological Torture"
Lawyers for former Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, arrested last September in a criminal probe regarding the supply of defective ammunition to the country’s military, today claimed their client is being subjected to “psychological torture”.
The lawyers accuse the courts of dragging out the trial unnecessarily and thus discriminating against Tonoyan.
Tonoyan was arrested along with then Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian military, General Artak Davtyan and businessman David Galstyan, who owns several firms that have supplied weapons and ammunition to the military for years.
The next court hearing is scheduled for May 2, 2022.
