Armenian, Georgian Prosecutor Generals Sign Cooperation Agreement
A delegation led by Georgian Prosecutor General Irakli Shotadze arrived in Yerevan today.
Shotadze later met with Armenian Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan and the two discussed issues related to increasing the effectiveness of protection of citizens' rights in each other countries, especially at border checkpoints, establishing communication mechanisms between border prosecutor's offices, strengthening control over the Armenian-Georgian border, improving the joint fight against illegal border crossings.
The two, according to a statement released by Davtyan’s office, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Armenia’s and Georgia’s Prosecutor's Offices.
The MoU creates a legal basis for cooperation in other areas related to the effective implementation of criminal justice information, exchange of experience, development of professional skills of the prosecutors’ staff.
