Artsakh State Minister: "Artsakh can never be part of Azerbaijan"

Artsakh State Minister Artak Beglaryan today reaffirmed the position of the current government that Artsakh can never, under any fashion, be a part of Azerbaijan.

Beglaryan, in a statement, said the Armenians of Artsakh fully share this position.

“Moreover, we are ready for any short or long-term hardships and challenges, and we will never deviate from the path we have chosen,” the statement reads.

Beglaryan said the right of the indigenous people of Artsakh to self-determination takes precedence over all other norms of international law and geopolitical interests.

“The principle of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has nothing to do with the right to self-determination, which, by the way, is accepted by the well-known Madrid principles approved by the mediation mission of the OSCE Minsk Group, and consequently by the international community,” the statement reads.
