Armenian, Georgian Foreign Ministers Meet in Yerevan
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and visiting Georgian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili met today in Yerevan and marked thirty years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two, according to a statement released by Mirzoyan’s office, discussed joint efforts to expand trade and the need to establish an international transport-transit corridor from the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea.
Issues of regional security and stability were also discussed during the meeting.
Mirzoyan described the situation in Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenia's position on the processes aimed at establishing regional peace and stability, and the negotiations on a comprehensive peace agreement with Azerbaijan.
He also stressed the importance of the mediation efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in advancing the peace process aimed at the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The two visited Yerevan’s Armenian Genocide Memorial and paid tribute to the victims.
