Armenian Apostolic Church clergymen will be present at political opposition rallies in Yerevan to “alleviate possible tensions” according to a statement released by the press secretary of the Holy Etchmiadzin Mother See.

Press Secretary Father Yesayi Artenyan, in a Facebook post, called on protesters and police to refrain from provocative acts and act responsibly.

“We pray for the security and safety of our homeland, Armenia and Artsakh, for the well-being of our people," the post reads.
