Armenia: Police Take 48 Into Custody During Anti-Government Protests

48 citizens have been detained during recent protests in Armenia demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to police officials.  

Today, at noon, protesters gathered in Yerevan’s French Square, announcing that they intend to paralyze traffic in the capital

"We have reached the final stage of our movement. We will bring in our remaining compatriots. We are taking control of the whole situation and will remove this government of evil," ARF member Ishkhan Saghatelyan stated yesterday.

Today, police clashed with protesters who tried to block traffic on Yerevan’s Haghtanak (Victory) Bridge today. Police dragged protesters from the area, arresting them.

 Cops also tried to detain former Armenian Chief of Police of Armenia Valeri Osipyan, but protesters resisted and didn’t allow it.
