May 9: Artsakh Observes Minute of Silence

A minute of silence was observed throughout Artsakh today to commemorate those who fellin the defense of the motherland.

May 9 commemorates the defeat of Nazi Germany, the 1992 liberation of Shushi, and the founding of the Artsakh Defense Army.

Representatives of the military-political authorities of Artsakh, headed by President Arayik Harutyunyan, paid tribute at Stepanakert’s War Memorial to the memory to those who gave their lives to defend the country.

Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, conducted a requiem service in memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War, the 1st Artsakh War, the 2016 April War and the 2020 44-Day War.
